The Order of the Azure Rose

My beloved father Prince Hasim and beautiful step mother Lady Saluka. Lady Isabella and her dearest Prince Phillip and of course Sir Artenyin Valentine & Lady Elysabeth Ashby. My dearest friend Lady Charlotte Boulet, is also amongst a favorite of mine, however her fiance is a thorn in my side.

I do enjoy dancing, story telling, music, and cooking. I am a lady who enjoys the out doors and nature is my second home. Though mother may fly off at times, I normally like to stay grounded with father. I hope to someday be able to dance with dear mother Saluka and cannot await the day where I am formally inducted into my fathers home.

Lady Elysabeth Ashby is co-founder of the Order of the Azure Rose. She is the wife of Sir Knight Artenyin Valentine, who is the Order's founder. Lady Elysabeth is the decsendant of a Norman knight who wedded an Anglo-Saxon countess after the Battle of Hastings. One of her titles is Countess of Foxglove.

 Favorite people-my husband, my family and friends, the Knights of Mayhem, knights in shining armor and "uppity women" of the Medieval and Renaissance eras. Favorite places-Lizard Head Pass, Ouray, CO, Portland, OR, England. Favorite things-Renaissance and Medieval Faires everywhere, the sport of full-contact jousting, sewing period clothing, our encampment when it's set up, meeting new people along the journey.

Greetings to you all and most humble and sincere wishes for the health and welfare of you and your household! I am Elizabeth Makepeace Bernard, daughter of Richard Bernard, Baron of Teesdale and Anne Dunham. I am the eldest of four girls and have two brothers. Much to the dismay of my father and a series of nurses, I am quite in love with my books. I would read all day if they did not stir me to other duties! My mother is often bemoaning my lack of interest (and thus aptitude) in many social graces, which is why I was sent to Court in hopes that my association with "True Ladies" would have a positive influence on me. For myself in Court, I hope to cultivate virtues to make my family proud, to make lasting friendships and to find some small way to become useful.

And so it was that I was indeed born into the Royal Family of Stewart. of Scotland. (to be continued, of course!)
