the 2012 Utah Renaissance Festival & Fantasy Faire was very different this year than last. We were back on the old Millcreek Hollow site and saw friends old and new (good), site layout was quite different than in past events there (needed more space) and my foray into the realm of merchant was so-so. I plan to introduce a better presentation for my merch, as well as expanding my product line, with the desired goal of raising enough money to cover my expenses for supplies and travel, plus make a little to spend at other merchants. If next year's site layout places guilds, merchants and performers all within easy walking distance from one another in a more patron-friendly layout, then I expect that all of us trying to hawk and busk will do better, and not just be the pass-through area on the way to the jousting. Not to mention the improv banter between all participants will be much easier to do.
